I painted transperant panels with the size of my body. I turned
the painting over and continued, overlapping colors created new
colors. Blue+Red=Violet. I named the painting ’Power Yoga’.
I was interested in making pictures of my ’physical-space’.
Two examples of (my) paintings creating illusionistic space on the flat 2-dimensional
surface.
As spectator, you can float into the painting mentally, by the optical illusions
. You don’t have to move, you can experience mental space standing still.
Straws. Simple and yet complex. Connections, relations, paths.
Stille/Silent-Viewpoint. Exhibition collaboration where painting
was joint with physical space. One room, with 3 different standpoints
and view-angles for each area of colors; soft pastels, violet/red,
black/white. My physical sense of space was visualized.
when you move in front of the orange square, your perception will
change. I realized it matters where you keep your standpoint &
angle of visions. I am able to change my own perception of the world,
when I move. The orange square points back on the viewer, and tells
about her standpoint & angle. No illusionistic space, just
the space you can experience within yourself. Orange square becomes
a mirror.
Space is no longer projected onto the 2-d surface of the painting.
Space is inside me. I make a ’Pong-Pong’ symbol of
my space.
The stripes from the paintings are made literal. Space from paintings
is taken out. Space is where I go. I trace my space with strings.
Space is through experience over time. Space is something I do.

Instead of using my visual tools to express myself, I turned the
visual tools to look at me, as I expressed myself. Space is inside
me. I express space.

I dragged the painting onto the kitchen doors. I made the stripes
in one-go one night. The next day I was astonished by the strong
colors and covered half of the doors in transparent white. I am
happy I left the other half, strong and forceful.

making my living room into a painting. The action of doing something
completely different in your living room. Something un-expected.
It doesn’t have to be painting stripes – it could be
any un-usual behavior of yours, in your living room.
This year CREATIVE ACTIONS is founded.
Statement: We are all creative.
The right to do things differently.
Creativity is expressed
together with others. Space is made together with others.
To make an action, and to let other people react upon your action.
To challenge old daily
routines of behavior, to bring people into presence in public.
To
challenge what’s allowed and what’s not in public space.
To make the un-expected change, in public. To make something non-efficient,
but still with the efficiency of making people stop, look,
and consider public space.
This year CREATIVE ACTIONS produces INVOLVING AESTHETIC STRUCTURES
and ACTIONS for passers-by to join, use, function, and react on
in public city space. Thereby providing structures for 'new meetings
and movements’ to develop in public space.
