Enghave Plads, Collective String Webs had it's base within
the biggest blue circle.
You are invited to... string your way
with 40.000 meters of colorful string & elastics
tracking string across the marked area in series of collective
web marking of public space.
When you pull the strings in new directions,
the structure gradually changes, and you create new space, functions and
movements and new possibilities arise.
You are also invited to... tie objects to
the string web, and make it grow...
Enjoy!
The aim is to give citizens the opportunity to communicate and collectively generate
a positive atmosphere through a shared playful, creative experience in public
city space.
It is a Laboratory exploring COLLECTIVE CREATIVITY
in PUBLIC SPACE set up by CPH/Berlin/Brazil-based visual artist Karoline
H. Larsen and Seattle/NYC-based performer and artist Jasmine
Zimmerman.
It is also a spontaneous collaboration with CRASH
TEST by scenographer and dancer Sara Gebran and
artist and filmmaker Joacim Hamou, and URBANARTSCAPE by Jan
Hatt-Olsen and Asta Olga Magnusdottir, and visual artist Mille
Rude as part of Metropolis Laboratory
2007, Kopenhagen International Theater.

What would it
be like living in cities inhabited by people doing
creative actions in public space?
Would it change
the way people act?
Would it impact peoples' view on one another -
would it change yours?
By involving
people in a colorful string muster, this workshop explores how new functions
of body-expression, creativity, collectivity, weaving of social layers
and movements evolve in public space.
The documentation shows
the process of collective creativity in public space, all
the different stages of public involvement from beginning
1st day till take down 6th
